If you truly have a dental emergency that requires a dentist after hours including Sundays in the Northern Rivers, Ballina, Byron Bay or Lismore, Goonellabah areas, then our emergency number is 0473 374 166 Sometimes the problem can be diagnosed over the phone.
The emergency will either be classified as
A > Trauma = broken teeth or entire tooth has come out due to an accident. Urgent dental treatment is advised to save these teeth, ideally within the hour.
B > Or if the emergency is a toothache or gum swelling, and pain killers are not reducing the pain adequately, the dentist can be called for emergency dental treatment at Bytes Dental Ballina.
There will be an after hours dentist call out fee, payable before treatment commences. Dental fees as per normal are applicable on top of this.

Get to a dentist ASAP if you see a pink nerve.
If the adult tooth is out or dislodged, clean it in mildy salted water and get it back into position ASAP. If there is visible dirt, get tweezers to remove the pieces first. Try to hold the tooth by the crown and do not contaminate the red cellular root. If the cells die, the tooth will not re-implant successfully. You have about one hour at the most before the cells die. Get the tooth back in if at all possible.
Baby tooth knocked out: Leave the tooth out. Do not try to put it back in.
